N.A.B.C. stands for Need-Approach-Benefit-Competition. It's a way to articulate or present our idea within a customer and business framework, which will, in turn, allow for better feedback, which we can use to validate our ideas.

  • Quickly present ideas.

    Get expert feedback.

    Capture the core of the idea for prototyping purposes.

    Compare different ideas/concepts.

  • Work in groups of 1-8 team members. Play your digital story or read your problem statement. Work together to create a presentation of a particular business idea.

  • Step 1. Start with N-Need: Describe the problem and the customer's need.

    Step 2. Next, A-Approach: How will you solve the problem? What product or services will you use?

    Step 3. B-Benefits: What is the benefit for the customer?

    Step 4. C-Competition: What product or service exists in the market, and what is your unique value proposition?

  • Take cues from Pitch Deck Presentations and use visuals.

    State the problem your company solves. Mention how many people and what group of people suffer from the problem your product solves. How does this group cope with the problem? How is this problem being addressed, and why does the problem persist?

    Talk about your problem in a way that is familiar with people's experiences.

    Show the path to market by documenting benefits to the customer compared to other approaches by similar companies.
